Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an OR RN license and prior charge experience.

Details

  • Work in the Emergency Department of a short-term acute care teaching hospital
  • Patient ratio of 1:3
  • 13-week assignment with Night (4x12, 19:00-7:00) or Day (4x12, 7:00-19:00) shift options
  • Weekend shifts required and may be scheduled more frequently than every other weekend
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating to other units and sister facilities within the health system may be required based on skill set
  • Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

  • Active RN license (OR license required, can be submitted with license pending unless otherwise specified)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of previous Charge RN experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: PMAB Training, TNCC
  • Required skills: IV therapy/Phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care/management, respiratory care, care of ventilated patients
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency department nursing care including cardiac monitoring, management of dysrhythmias, medications, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
  • Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, STEMI Certified, and Stroke Certified
  • Any color scrubs accepted for general units; OR/Cath Lab scrubs are provided
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate, though local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • RTO requests must be submitted upfront; up to 6 total days or 3 consecutive days may be auto-approved, with additional time subject to client approval and potential delays
