Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level II Trauma Center experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Details

• General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients in a Level II Trauma Center
• Inner city ED setting serving adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Night shift, 4x12 hour schedule from 1900-0730, with 36 or 48 hour options accepted
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Uses Accudose and Omnicell medication systems, Cerner for documentation, and SBAR for communication
• First time travelers accepted for this unit

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT or compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, PALS, and TNCC
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required, with hard stop requirement for experience in a Level I or II trauma facility
• Level II Trauma Center experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in triage, IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG
• Experience with neurological assessment and CVA management
• References required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care including triage, cardiac monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration as needed
• Dark blue scrubs required
• Candidates within a 75 mile radius accepted at a lower bill rate
