Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a true float position across multiple campuses, requiring CA RN licensure and at least 3 years of ED experience.

Details

• Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
• STEMI and Stroke certified facility with trauma and shock capabilities
• True float position, floating 100% of the time across three campuses located about 15 minutes apart with shuttle transport available
• Rare mid-shift floating; may be scheduled at a different campus each shift with notification 2 hours prior to start time
• 3x12 shift rotation, Nights (1900-0730) and Days (0730-1930)
• Weekend rotation and on-call required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Previous travel experience required
• Experience with pediatric and adult ED patient populations including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric cases
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of central lines
• Experience managing ventilated and BiPAP/CPAP patients
• Experience interpreting ABGs and EKGs/ECGs
• Experience administering emergency medications and vasopressors
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic splinting
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and continual reassessment
• Serve as a patient advocate while coordinating care and promoting safety and clinical quality
• Local candidates accepted at local rate under a 50-mile radius rule
• Returning travelers must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday requestable per contract
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position due to the travel experience requirement
