Description

American Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a 12-week trauma emergency department assignment requiring a TN or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• Work in a hospital Emergency Department-Trauma unit
• Care for patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma-related emergencies
• Evening shift from 15:00 to 03:30
• 12-week assignment length
• Uses cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and ventilators
• Documents in the electronic health record

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• ACLS certification (AHA) required
• PALS certification (AHA) may be required
• TNCC certification may be preferred or required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification may be required
• Previous emergency department, critical care, or acute-care nursing experience preferred
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and prioritization of care based on severity and urgency
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, and changes in patient condition
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other treatments as ordered
• Assist with emergency procedures including CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare team members
• Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Follow infection-control and medication-safety practices
• Participate in emergency preparedness and quality-improvement initiatives
