Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Float Pool Pediatrics/Medicine position requiring three years of Level I trauma experience and compact RN licensure.

Details

• Float Pool role covering medical, surgical, medical specialty, hem/onc, and step-down units
• May also float to NICU for feeder-grower patients
• Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
• Holiday and weekend coverage required

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current PALS certification from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Three years of Level I trauma experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and procedures
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to assigned patients across multiple units
• Monitor and document patient responses to treatments and medications
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
• Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge procedures
• Delegate tasks appropriately to support staff
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Returning travelers limited to one extension up to 26 weeks total, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
• Strict compliance deadlines enforced; onboarding must begin immediately upon offer
