Description

American Traveler is hiring a Float Psychiatric RN for a 13-week evening assignment in an inpatient behavioral health hospital, requiring an active MA RN license and adult, adolescent, and geriatric inpatient psych experience.

Details

• Inpatient psychiatric hospital setting treating adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with psychiatric, emotional, and substance use needs
• Evening shift (3p-11:30p), full-time 40 hours per week (8 hour shifts)
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Charge nurse responsibilities required
• Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, though 3 years of adult, adolescent, and geriatric inpatient psych experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• CPR certification required
• Restraint Reduction de-escalation / crisis intervention experience preferred
• Comfortable using Electronic Medical Record systems
• Strong critical thinking, crisis management, and team building skills

• Provide direct and indirect care to psychiatric patients and their families within a multi-disciplinary treatment team
• Maintain a safe therapeutic milieu grounded in trauma-informed recovery principles
• Contribute to individualized patient treatment plans, including goal development and documentation

• Work within an 84-bed inpatient hospital environment focused on psychiatric distress and co-occurring substance abuse treatment
