Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Hawaii RN license required by the start date
• At least 1 year of recent hospital acute care experience within the last year
• Progressive care, telemetry, or step-down unit experience preferred
• ACLS preferred
• PALS preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Comfort working in a fast-paced acute care and hospital nursing environment
• Ability to arrive the Thursday before the start date for employee health requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide primary nursing care for progressive care, telemetry, and step-down patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret telemetry strips accurately
• Perform fingerstick blood glucose checks and other routine bedside assessments
• Support safe, timely care for patients with cardiac, medical-surgical, and acute care needs
• Use electronic health records, charting systems, and medication management systems accurately
• Administer medications and monitor patient response in accordance with best practices
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver patient-centered care
• Float to other acute care areas such as medical-surgical, pediatric, ICU, or emergency settings as needed
