Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced GI/Endoscopy RN with a CO or compact RN license and prior GI experience for a 13-week acute care assignment.

Details

• Work in the Endoscopy/GI Lab of a Level 1 trauma acute care hospital
• 3-suite GI lab with 1:1 patient ratios
• Common procedures include colonoscopy, EUS, ERCP, bronchoscopy, and Ion procedures
• Pulmonary cases performed on Wednesdays and Fridays
• Duties include intraprocedural patient care, charting, and tools/scope cleaning
• Techs and nurse aides support the department, but no charge nurse or house supervisor role included
• Uses EPIC EMR
• 4x10 variable day shift schedule with self-scheduling balanced to unit needs
• On-call required one night per week and one weekend every 5-6 weeks with a 30-minute call response time
• Holiday call requirements apply
• Floating required within the hospital's designated float zone

Requirements

• Active CO or Compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous GI experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS, and PALS (AHA)
• BSN not required for this position
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Driver's license copy required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care during GI/Endoscopy procedures including monitoring, charting, and equipment cleaning
• Complete unit-specific orientation for the Endo lab, totaling 12 orientation hours
• Clinicians must be in-state for orientation week, even if initial modules are completed remotely
• Hospital-provided scrubs required
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be considered for this position
• Candidates are expected to secure housing that allows them to meet the float zone requirement for the region
• Hiring process includes a profile review followed by an interview with the unit manager
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
