Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI Lab position requiring OR/PACU competency and call availability.

Details

• Work in the GI Lab of a hospital setting
• Rotating day shifts (5x8 hours) with start times ranging from 6:00-7:30 AM
• Call required approximately 4-5 days per month based on need
• Weekend shift required approximately once every other month based on need
• Floating to other facilities required as needed
• Uses Pyxis and Omnicell medication systems
• Performs procedures including bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, and EGD
• Responsibilities include circulating, administering and monitoring conscious sedation, and post-procedure recovery care

Requirements

• Active RN license (SC or Compact) required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of recent GI Lab experience required
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• OR/PACU experience required due to facility needs for call coverage
• Skilled in administering and monitoring conscious sedation, interpreting and managing dysrhythmias, and specimen handling/labeling
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• No first-time travelers considered for this position

Additional Information

• Small facility environment requiring GI Lab nurses to be cross-competent in OR/PACU care
• Orientation held every Monday along with annual compliance training
• Pre-assignment testing and modules required for all travelers, to be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Floating expectations apply system-wide, though the facility aims to keep staff in their home unit when possible
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible for full travel rate, with reduced rate options for those 90-99.9 miles away
