Description

American Traveler is hiring a GI Lab RN for a day-shift assignment requiring 3+ years of GI/Endoscopy experience and an active CA RN license in hand.

Details

• Work in the GI Lab of a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• No weekend requirement
• Call requirement of 3 shifts within a 2-week period
• Float to preop and phase II PACU required, as well as to a sister facility with at least 24 hours notice
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required and must be in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 3 years of GI/Endoscopy experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (CGRN preferred)
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience administering and monitoring conscious sedation
• Experience with airway management and recovery from conscious sedation or monitored anesthesia care
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with specimen handling and labeling
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs and administering medications including opioid analgesics, Propofol, Versed, and reversal agents
• Experience obtaining 12 lead EKG/ECG
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Provation skills preferred

Additional Information

• Perform pre-procedure, procedure, and post-procedure care for GI/Endoscopy patients in inpatient and outpatient endoscopy settings
• Assist with procedures including colonoscopy, EGD, bronchoscopy, ERCP, EBUS, EUS, esophageal varices banding, and sclerotherapy
• Work with equipment such as balloon dilators, bronchoscopy carts, electrosurgical units, ERBE units, forceps, polyp snares, and lithotripters
• Scrubs provided
• First-time travelers considered only with 3+ years of experience
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel candidate and must not be within 50 miles of the facility
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Local candidates accepted at standard bill rate
• Candidates residing within 50 miles are considered local
