Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a High Acuity Stepdown/ICU position requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and an active NJ or compact RN license.

Details

• High Acuity Stepdown Unit (SDU) setting within a hospital
• 12-hour night shifts, 7p-7a, three days per week
• On-call requirements as needed
• Floating required as needed, including to a nearby sister hospital
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• Background check and drug screen results required prior to start, with reporting to lab within 24 hours of commitment

Additional Information

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric
• Deliver competent, unit-appropriate clinical care and demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures
• Maintain complete, accurate documentation of patient care and progress
• Support pre-operative and postoperative patient assessments, education, and chart completion
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including use of two patient identifiers and safe transfer techniques
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
• Local candidates accepted at a lower pay rate
• Returning travelers may stay on assignment up to one year from initial start date before requiring a 30-60 day break
