Job Title: Histology Tech Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Histology Tech Duration: 18 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 (07:30 - 16:00) Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Pending State License accepted Certifications: ASCP-HT Must-Have: Strong embedding and microtomy skills in a high-paced lab. Experience with automated and manual microtomy. Experience in tissue processing. Experience with Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining. Epic experience preferred. Description: The Histology Tech position requires working Monday through Friday during the day shift. The role involves routine embedding and microtomy of biopsies and large specimens. The tech will be expected to work with various specimens, including GI specimens and skin techniques. Familiarity with automated and manual microtomes is essential. Precision microtomy and experience with paraffin wax sections are required. Candidates should prepare slides for staining effectively. The daily volume involves handling an average of 1800 blocks. This position supports a high-volume histology lab. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is essential for patient care. No on-call duties or weekends are required for this position. Applicants must be willing to float within the hospital as needed. All necessary background checks and compliance procedures must be completed prior to starting the role. Travel experience is preferred. A minimum of one supervisor reference is required for application.
