Job Title: Histotechnician Profession: Allied Health Specialty: Pathology Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Required Certifications: ASCP Certification (HT or HTL) Must-Have: - Microtomy - Embedding - Ability to perform Re-cuts - Troubleshooting difficult blocks - Detail orientation - Ability to work in a high-volume histology lab and maintain case integrity - Experience with special stains, tissue specimens, cell cultures, and microscopic exams - Familiarity with routine histology, CLIA, IHC, frozen sections, routine maintenance, microtome, surgical pathology, and technical procedures Description: We are seeking a skilled Histotechnician to work in our Pathology Lab. The candidate will be responsible for performing microtomy, embedding, and re-cuts as needed. Attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot difficult blocks is essential. The work environment is high-volume, requiring efficiency while maintaining case integrity. Candidates should possess experience with various histological techniques and procedures. Familiarity with the EPIC Beaker electronic medical record system is preferred. This position does not have weekend, holiday, call, or standby requirements. Scrub color and dress code are not specified. Traveling staff will work closely with a trainer on a daily basis.
