Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Home Health RN with skilled home care experience and OASIS training, requiring an active FL or compact RN license.

Details

  • Home Health setting providing skilled home care visits for Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance patients
  • Patient population includes cardiopulmonary, wound care, post-op, and high-risk diagnoses such as HF, COPD, MI, pneumonia, and stroke
  • Performs cardiopulmonary assessments, wound care, ABI compression dressings, wound vac dressings, Pleurx/Aseptdrain care, foley catheter changes, staple/suture removal, glucometer and pro-time machine use, SQ/IM injections, venipuncture, IV skills, PICC/Midline care, and SQ port access/deaccess
  • Manages approximately 6-8 skilled home visits per day
  • Day shift schedule with hours varying based on office needs, including Mon-Fri 8a-5p, Mon-Fri 9a-6p, and Thurs-Mon or Fri-Tues rotations
  • Alternating weekend shifts required
  • Self-scheduling of visits and hours based on HomeCare office needs
  • Uses BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, and Ace Timesheet documentation systems
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Company-provided laptop, MiFi, and portable printer for fieldwork

Requirements

  • Active FL RN license or compact license required at time of consideration
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of skilled home health care experience required; private duty nursing experience alone not accepted
  • OASIS training and experience required
  • IV skills and wound care experience required
  • Experience with high-risk diagnoses including HF, COPD, MI, pneumonia, and stroke
  • Post-op care experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required, with more than one completed assignment preferred
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required for home visits
  • Proof of COVID vaccination or exemption form required
  • Flu shot or declination required, with mandatory masking at all times if declined

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive skilled home health nursing care across a range of medical and high-risk diagnoses
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel position
  • Solid color scrubs required
  • Facility is smoke-free
  • Compliance documents due 10 days prior to start date
  • Must pass EKG exam (up to 3 attempts)
  • Pre-start and annual completion of standardized modules required for all Home Health RNs
  • No RTO (requested time off) permitted under contract terms
  • Former BayCare permanent employees must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Return travelers currently limited to specific specialties (ICU, MICU, CVICU, ED, PCU, MS/Tele) with a completed contract since 7/1/2022
