Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee field operations for large-scale healthcare construction projects across the country. The ideal candidate has a strong background managing complex hospital builds, patient towers, and major healthcare campuses from the ground up.
This individual will be responsible for leading daily field operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Experience overseeing large-scale ground-up healthcare projects, preferably $150M+ in value, is required. Experience managing hospital builds, patient towers, or major medical campuses is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage all on-site construction activities from project mobilization through completion and closeout.
- Lead and coordinate subcontractors, field staff, and project personnel.
- Maintain project schedules and ensure critical milestones are achieved.
- Oversee quality control efforts and ensure all work is completed in accordance with contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
- Enforce a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Conduct daily coordination meetings with subcontractors and project teams.
- Review drawings, specifications, and submittals to identify potential conflicts and prevent delays.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Manage site logistics, manpower planning, material deliveries, and overall site organization.
- Prepare daily reports and provide regular project updates to the Project Manager and leadership team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of Superintendent experience managing large commercial construction projects.
- Healthcare construction experience required.
- Experience overseeing large-scale ground-up healthcare projects, preferably $150M+ in value.
- Experience managing hospital builds, patient towers, or major medical campuses is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of healthcare construction requirements, including infection control, life safety systems, and complex MEP coordination.
- Experience managing multiple subcontractor trades on large, fast-paced projects.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Experience with Procore, Microsoft Office, or similar construction management software.
- Willingness to travel nationwide for project assignments.
