Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN House Supervisor with OB and ER/Med Surg cross-coverage capability and required NRP certification for a rotating day/night shift assignment.

Details

• House Supervisor role covering ER, Med Surg, and OB/delivery units
• Rotating 3x12 Day/Night schedule (0700-1930 or 1900-0730)
• Every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation required
• Must be able to serve as baby nurse for deliveries when needed
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active Minnesota RN license required (in hand or proof of application at time of consideration)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• OB experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC or CALS, and NRP (NRP may be pending and obtained during compliance)
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, and chest tubes
• Experience in MS/Tele, ortho trauma, and renal failure patient populations
• Must complete Livescan fingerprinting in person in Minnesota on the Monday prior to the scheduled start date

Additional Information

• Responsible for supervising unit operations and managing patient care across ER, Med Surg, and OB as needed
• Attend deliveries and provide resuscitation support for OB births
• Holiday coverage required as needed by the facility
• Must reside at least 25 miles from the facility; local travelers not accepted
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 9 months before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with no RTO allowed during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• All RTO requests must be disclosed and approved at the time of consideration
• Lab work must be completed within 48 hours of signing the contract
• First-time travelers may be considered with appropriate experience
