Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position at a teaching hospital, requiring OH or compact license and float flexibility across multiple ICU units on night shift.

Details

• Critical Care Float Pool position within a teaching hospital ICU setting
• Floats across a variety of ICUs based on staffing and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs (MICU x2), Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, and NCCU
• Nurses float only within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Skills required: IV start, telemetry, and ventilator management
• Additional skills include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, suctioning, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, CVA/acute stroke management, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties based on facility staffing needs
• Responsibilities include managing ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients, administering emergency medications, and monitoring for multisystem organ dysfunction
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract, with in-state travel or mailed fingerprinting packet required depending on location
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel roles at this health system
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
