Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a float pool position at a teaching hospital, requiring CA RN license, BSN, and Trauma Level II experience.
Details
- ICU float pool position covering TCUs, ICUs, ED, and PACU across UCSF facilities
- 12-hour Day/Night rotating shifts (7:00-19:30 or 19:00-7:30)
- Schedule cycles run 4 weeks and may switch between day and night shifts based on need
- 1:2 patient ratio
- Epic charting system preferred
- Required to float to other UCSF facilities and departments as needed
- May be reassigned to a different department, unit, or facility within a 75+ mile radius
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required at time of submission
- BSN required
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Minimum 4 years of recent ICU experience within the last 6 months to 1 year
- Teaching hospital experience required and must be reflected in employment history
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Completed travel assignment within the past 12 months required
- Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and TPN/Lipids administration
- Experience with care of ventilated patients, HFNC, ABG interpretation, respiratory failure and pulmonary embolism management
- Experience with CVP monitoring, IABP, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and dysrhythmia management
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and paralytics/neuromuscular blockade
- Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and EVD care
- 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties including CVICU, MICU, Neuro ICU, SICU, and Transplant ICU
- Care for complex patients requiring advanced monitoring, respiratory support, and multi-system management
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
- Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with dates, units, and manager names for a rehire eligibility check
- All RTO must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract and RTO cannot fall within the first two weeks of the assignment
- Travel pairs allowed but generally not placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit
