Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a float pool position across multiple ICU specialties requiring a CT or compact RN license and Level I Trauma Center experience.

Details

• Float pool position within the ICU, floating between two campuses sharing a parking lot and shuttle service
• Floats across 5 ICU specialties and step-down units, including a pulmonary step-down unit with 1:3 ratios
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• EMR: Epic

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (TNCC preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
• Large facility Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Skills required: IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care/management, care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management, EVD management (preferred), and Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties and step-down units as needed based on facility demand
• Located within a large academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center with 1,567 staffed beds
• Travelers are expected to participate in emergency response activities such as natural disasters
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted; COVID and booster exemptions allowed only for religious or medical reasons
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
• Local candidates not accepted within a 75-mile radius of the facility
• Previous staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
