Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU Float Pool position requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and the ability to float across multiple critical care units.

Details

  • Float Pool position within a hospital setting, floating across MICU, Neuro ICU, Surgical/Trauma ICU, Cardiac ICU, and CTICU
  • Also floats to Intermediate Care (IMC) units within the organization as needed
  • Patient population includes sedated, intubated, and pressor-dependent ICU patients; high-complexity cases such as CRRT are not assigned
  • Patient ratios are 1:2 in ICU and 1:3 in IMC
  • Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
  • 75% weekend hours required
  • No on-call requirements
  • EMR: Epic

Requirements

  • Active ME RN license or Compact RN license required
  • AHA BLS certification required; non-AHA certifications accepted but AHA must be completed before start date
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Acute care hospital experience required
  • Driver's License required for consideration
  • 2 professional references required for consideration
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsible for caring for ICU patients across multiple critical care units including MICU, Neuro ICU, SICU, and CICU, as well as IMC units
  • Candidates must be flexible and willing to accept multiple different assignments within the same shift
  • May be required to float between facilities within a 25-mile radius
  • Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (Maine or New Hampshire residents) are considered local and may be subject to a different pay rate
  • Personal electronic devices including AirPods, laptops, and cell phones are prohibited on the unit
  • Scrubs of any color are acceptable; open-toed shoes, crocs, jeans, and clothing with large logos or profanity are not permitted
  • RTO should be kept to a minimum — a reasonable amount is 3–4 days for a 13-week contract, at the manager's discretion
  • Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during the application process
