Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position available in Tyler, Texas. This hospital-based role involves providing direct patient care in a Medical-Surgical ICU environment, working night shifts with a 12-hour schedule and a minimum of 36 hours per week. The position requires experienced and skilled healthcare professionals capable of managing complex patient cases and utilizing advanced clinical skills.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Certifications in ACLS and BLS; Texas state or compact license; 2 years of ICU experience; experience with Epic charting system; skills in managing Ports, Arterial lines, Central lines, Ventilated patients, and other critical care procedures
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in Trauma Level I or II, Community Hospital, LTAC, and Neuro Intensive Care Units; travel experience is required; additional certifications in TNCC, ENPC, NIHSS, and other specialized skills are advantageous
• Additional Information: The unit is an Adult and Geriatric Medical-Surgical ICU with a daily census of 14 patients, 12 beds, and interdisciplinary support from physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. Specific protocols include managing high-acuity patients requiring advanced ventilator and renal support.
• Submission Requirements: Texas license must be in hand at the time of submittal, and all requirements must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing. Onsite orientation includes 36 hours of core modules.
• Travel Compliance: UT does not contract travelers residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris counties. Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as travelers.
