Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse position in Round Rock, Texas. This role involves providing direct nursing care in a critical care environment within a 32-bed Medical ICU and a 16-bed Surgical Trauma ICU. The nurse will implement patient care plans, monitor patient conditions, and coordinate discharge planning, ensuring high-quality care aligned with established policies and procedures.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Texas Board of Nursing; American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 1 month of hire; Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer; Successful completion of diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing or equivalent professional licensure at the time of hire.
- Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), trauma protocols, Impella devices, or similar high-acuity interventions.
- Additional Information: The ICU staffing includes a charge nurse and unit clerk with staffing ratios of 1:2 for ICU and 1:3 for intermediate care. Potential to float to acute care units or emergency department based on operational needs. Use of Cerner Powerchart electronic medical record system. Personal protective equipment protocols are to be followed, including Standard Precautions. Critical thinking and the ability to work independently in a stressful environment are essential.
