Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by assuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety, adhering to organizational guidelines and fostering a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis for individualized care plans.
- Identify patient education needs and goals, collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide timely information and status updates for team conferences.
- Implement a nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care with a focus on education.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the first day of admission.
- Communicate important changes in patient status to the appropriate care providers.
- Oversee and train ancillary nursing personnel, prioritizing effective problem-solving techniques.
- Assure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
- Contribute positively to unit dynamics and foster a supportive work environment.
- Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and clinical training.
- Assume charge responsibilities when necessary and actively pursue professional development.
- Prioritize activities for effective use of time and staff.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
- A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

This position follows a Day 3x12.0 schedule.
