Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 1.5+ years of ICU experience and NM or compact RN licensure.

Details

• ICU setting with a patient population that may include neuro and surgical ICU cases
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (18:30-07:00)
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating to like units required based on facility needs, with brief unit orientation provided
• Option for 36 or 48 hour weekly schedule

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending NM/Compact accepted if obtained prior to start
• Current certifications: ACLS, NIHSS, BLS preferred
• Minimum 1.5-2 years of ICU experience required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, and blood product administration
• Respiratory skills including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and suctioning
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, and procedural sedation
• Neurological care experience including CVA/stroke management; EVD, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol, and post neurosurgery management preferred
• Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and cardiac dysrhythmias
• IV insulin protocol experience

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU patients, including complex respiratory, cardiac, neurological, and renal cases
• Facility is part of a larger medical center that includes a dedicated heart hospital
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Former staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• Limited RTO auto-approval, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Onsite orientation includes required non-billable training modules
