Job Summary: The organization is seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift located in Rome, Georgia. The position involves providing critical care to diverse patient populations within a facility that offers Level 2 Trauma designation and comprehensive support across multiple specialized units. This role requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work within a team to deliver quality patient care.
Job Details:
Schedule: Nights, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting 08/17/2026
Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, at least 2 years of experience in ICU, and certifications such as TNCC and CPI (training offered if not available) for all nurses
Skills required: ICU-specific skills including arrhythmia monitoring, sedation, paralytics, titratable drips knowledge, CVP monitoring, and care for post-craniotomy patients; certifications such as CCRN and TNCC are preferred
Support within the Department: CNA/Nurse tech assistance, respiratory therapist support, phlebotomist, educator, staffing specialist, safety sitter, virtual patient observers and virtual RN support, security
Technology/Equipment: EPIC electronic medical record system, glucommander, cardiac monitors, precision BBG monitor, specialty beds, alarms, BiPap, ventilators, Alaris pumps, Virtual RN, and Virtual Patient Observer
Orientation: 1 week of New Employee Orientation (NEO), followed by 2-3 days departmental orientation on the floor
Ratios: 1:2 (days and nights) for ICU patients, with potential for increase up to 1:3 depending on acuity
Floating: May be required across all med-surg and critical care areas, including emergency department boarders
Other notes: Scrub color designated as Navy, free parking available, team-oriented department culture emphasizing collaboration, prompt response to patient needs, and effective communication.
