Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel contract at a community hospital, requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications with at least 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

  • General ICU setting within a community hospital environment
  • Diverse patient population including cardiac, STEMI, DKA, ETOH withdrawal, vascular procedures, post-invasive spinal surgery, and DIEP flap cases
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Uses Epic EMR (experience required)
  • Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:45–07:15
  • Weekends, floating, and holiday coverage may be required as needed

Requirements

  • Active TX or Compact RN license required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS (AHA preferred; ARC not accepted; military certs acceptable)
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Proficiency in IV therapy, central line care/management, PICC line management, arterial line management, and blood product administration
  • Competency in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, and neuromuscular blockade
  • Experience with CVVHD/CRRT preferred
  • Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • State-issued ID required for consideration
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply

  • Certifications must be AHA-issued; ARC certifications are not accepted
  • Orientation includes non-billable module completion (average 8–12 hours total) tracked in Healthstream
  • RTO is limited to no more than 5 non-consecutive days and must be approved by management prior to contract signing; during the holiday season (Nov–Jan), only one holiday RTO request may be submitted for approval
  • Candidates residing within 90 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to a different pay rate
