Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU - Respiratory Care Unit position in Florida, requiring a minimum of 3 years of critical care experience with ventilator-dependent patients and active FL or Compact licensure.

Details

  • Respiratory Care Unit (RCU) within a hospital ICU setting
  • High acuity step-down unit serving acute and chronically ill patients requiring ventilator support
  • Patient-to-nurse ratio of 3:1, with a maximum of 4:1 depending on staffing
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
  • Floating required on an as-needed basis
  • Epic EMR — experience required
  • Travel pairs will not be considered for this position

Requirements

  • Active FL or Compact RN license, must be in hand at time of consideration
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA, must be in hand
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required, must be in hand
  • Minimum 3 years of recent critical care experience with ventilator-dependent patients required
  • Trauma and neuro experience required
  • Degree from an accredited school, or a degree from an institution approved by the Florida Board of Nursing (FBON) plus 2 years of consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months at a US hospital
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Proof of vaccination status required — declinations not accepted

Additional Information

  • Preferred experience includes Charge RN, SICU, MICU, Trauma, and Stroke backgrounds
  • Candidates must pass a Basic Arrhythmia/EKG assessment as part of the onboarding process
  • If the initial arrhythmia assessment is not passed at 100% in lethal rhythms, a re-take (Dysrhythmia Exam B) must be completed within 24 hours with a minimum overall Angoff score of 83%, 100% in the lethal rhythm section, and 83% in all other sections before the first shift
  • A study guide and tips for the arrhythmia assessment are available through the facility's online orientation materials
  • Smoke-free facility
  • Local candidates within a 60-mile radius of the facility are considered, though at a different pay rate than traveling candidates
