Job Summary:
An Intensive Care Unit (ICU) RN is needed in an acute care setting. This role involves providing specialized care for critically ill patients with various diagnoses, including CHF, DKA, respiratory failure, metabolic acidosis, renal failure, and encephalopathy. The position requires collaboration with hospitalists and intensivists to deliver high-quality patient care.

Job Details:

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, with CRRT and IABP training preferred but not required.
• Education Requirements: Must have 2+ years of ICU experience, including ventilator management, drip management, and DKA management.
• Location Requirements: Not specified.
• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU experience required; no minimum experience for other qualifications.
• Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities include managing ventilators, titrating cardiac drips, insulin, sedatives, and troubleshooting respiratory equipment such as vents and BiPap.
• The unit maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1 most of the time, with a charge nurse managing assignments.
• There are self-scheduling options and six weekend shifts within a six-week period.
• Unit features include continuous respiratory therapy and telemetry monitoring. Nurses are responsible for monitoring their own patients' strips along with central monitor oversight.
• Additional unit details include a six-shift orientation and a reduced cancellation policy.
• Charting is conducted through EPIC.
