ARMStaffing is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Columbus, Ohio.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering quality patient care while assuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees. This role emphasizes maintaining a safe working and patient environment, aligning with the organization's core values of superior quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission to form individualized care plans.
  • Identify patient teaching needs and goals through collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide timely updates regarding patient status for team conferences and ensure documentation of assessments and interventions adheres to policy.
  • Participate in and support the patient rehabilitation program, ensuring a focus on education for patients and their families.
  • Initiate discharge planning on the day of admission and provide patient education in anticipation of discharge.
  • Communicate changes in patient status effectively to foster continuity of care.
  • Supervise and train nursing ancillary personnel, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Promote personal and environmental safety in compliance with hospital policies.
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities upon completion of orientation as required.
  • Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Current BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
  • ACLS Certification required (CIRH only) prior to the first shift.
  • Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
