Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting a safe environment for patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop an individualized plan of care.
- Identify teaching needs and goals related to patient diagnoses, and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Provide patient information and status during Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences regularly.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record per policy.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, ensuring direct patient care through the nursing process.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
- Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety.
- Supervise and train nursing personnel, utilizing effective problem-solving and organizational techniques.
- Ensure personal and environmental safety according to relevant policies and procedures.
- Foster a positive and efficient work environment through team-building activities.
- Maintain communication with management regarding service needs for supplies and training.
- Assume charge responsibilities as needed after orientation.
- Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
- Perform additional duties as requested.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current RN license required.
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH only).
- Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
Schedule
This position requires 3x12 hour shifts on the Day shift.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
