Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in North Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves providing specialized care in a mixed ICU setting with a patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3. The position requires working nights with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend and holidays. The ICU RN will deliver patient care utilizing advanced skills and procedures, including ventilator management, telemetry interpretation, and complex hemodynamics.

Job Details:

  • Location: North Charleston, South Carolina
  • Shift Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale certifications; 36 months RN experience with at least one year ICU experience; ability to care for 1-3 ICU patients and manage ventilated patients; proficiency in telemetry reading; experience with Meditech documentation system; comfort with advanced procedures such as CRRT and advanced hemodynamics.
  • Preferred Qualifications: BSN, advanced certifications, TNCC certification.
  • Float Policy: Travelers are the first to float. They may be assigned to the emergency department or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) to support patient care needs.
  • Additional Information: The ICU team utilizes bedside shift reports on every patient transfer, and staff are trained in managing neuro procedures like aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, EVDs, bolts, and induced hypothermia. Candidates interested in becoming specialized Neuro ICU or Cardiovascular ICU nurses are encouraged, as training opportunities are available.
