Job Summary: The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is based in an acute care facility in Twin Falls, Idaho. This role involves providing specialized patient care in a combined ICU and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) environment, requiring collaboration within a multidisciplinary team to support critically ill patients. The position offers a 12-hour night shift schedule, with an expectation of 36 hours per week starting on 08/24/2026.
Job Details:
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, with weekends required as needed, first to float.
Required Qualifications: ACLS, BLS certifications; minimum of 2 years of ICU experience; valid license to submit.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience; experience with EPIC electronic medical record system; 2 years of ICU experience preferred.
Duties: Monitoring and managing ventilators, Cpap, BiPap, and other respiratory equipment; interpreting telemetry and telemonitor screens; administering and titrating ICU drips including vasoactive and sedative medications; supporting the entire unit including charge nursing and float responsibilities; providing patient care such as vital signs, Foley care, bathing, IV pulls, bladder scans, and specimen collection.
Additional Notes: The unit has a great culture with strong teamwork, active involvement of travelers, and outdoor recreational activities in the area. The team includes intensivists (in-house 7 days a week), hospitalists (in-house 24/7), and RTs (respiratory therapists) available 24/7. Telemonitor techs are present on the unit with monitors in-house and at sister sites; RNs should be comfortable reading and interpreting telemetry strips.
Certifications: ACLS and BLS are required.
Unit Details: The unit has 16 ICU beds and 14 PCU beds, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1-2 in ICU and 1:3 in PCU. The charge nurse supports the entire unit without assignment. Nurse aides (CNAs) are present at a ratio of 1:8.
Additional Information: The shift runs from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with a possibility for extra shifts and occasional weekend work as needed. The unit involves floating between ICU and PCU patients and requires a navy blue dress code.
