Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse position is located in a healthcare facility in Glenview, Illinois. The role involves providing critical care to cardiac and post-operative patients in a Cardiovascular ICU setting. The position requires a commitment to high-quality patient care, along with relevant clinical expertise and certification.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Dayshift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Active Illinois nursing license, CPR certification, ACLS certification, NIHSS certification. Three years of experience in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CV ICU).
- Preferred Qualifications: Charge nursing experience.
- Float: May float to Glenbrook MICU, Evanston ICU, or Highland Park ICU if needed.
- Certifications & Skills: Certification in CVI ICU; interpret and manage dysrhythmias, multi-system organ failure, thermoregulation, CABG, intra-aortic balloon pump, Impella, post-cardiac surgery care (not directly from the operating room), pre/post-cardiac catheterization/intervention, pulmonary artery line/Swan-Ganz monitoring, valve replacement/repair, LVAD/RVAD, CVVHD/CRRT, IV therapy including arterial line management, medication administration (including continuous IV paralytics, sedation, emergency meds), stroke management, lumbar drains, ventilator management (including BiPAP, CPAP, high flow nasal cannula), ABG interpretation, suctioning (ETT, NT), infection prevention, PPE use, phlebotomy, surgical wound care, and blood product administration.
- Orientation: 8 hours of non-billable orientation required.
