Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality nursing care by ensuring nursing care plans are followed while supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. This position focuses on patient and employee safety, ensuring a safe work environment and adherence to safety policies.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to create an individualized plan of care.
- Identify teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams for effective care planning.
- Provide timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
- Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, delivering direct care and prioritizing patient education.
- Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
- Communicate pertinent patient information to ensure continuity of care.
- Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately.
- Contribute positively to the work unit and support team-building activities.
- Monitor supplies and equipment to ensure effective resource management.
- Seek opportunities for professional growth and development.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
- ACLS certification required prior to first shift (specific facility applies).
- Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience required.
Schedule
This position requires working every third weekend on a 3x12 hour day shift schedule.
