Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift - 13-Week Contract

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, fostering a safe and efficient care environment for patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Establish individualized plans of care based on comprehensive assessments.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, providing direct patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to other care providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision to nursing support staff.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety following hospital policies and procedures.
• Participate in team-building activities to foster a positive work environment.
• Manage supplies and equipment effectively to maintain quality care and cost-effectiveness.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as required.
• Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.

Schedule

• Day shift, 3x12 hours.
