Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in an acute care setting within a healthcare organization. The role involves providing specialized patient care in a 12-bed combined Critical Care Unit (CCU) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with a focus on managing patients with complex conditions such as sepsis, respiratory distress, overdose or ETOH withdrawal, and diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA). The nurse will work night shifts, contribute to a multidisciplinary team, and follow general facility orientation along with unit-specific training.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Active ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications; 2 years of experience in ICU or similar setting; valid nursing license.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience titrating drips such as Levophed, insulin, dopamine, and heparin; familiarity with ventilators, CPAP, Bipap, and oximizers; ability to read and interpret strips; experience in ER is a plus.
• Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Staff will work with a balanced team including charge nurses on each shift and house supervisors during nights and weekends. The unit utilizes ventilators, CPAP, and Bipap equipment. The role involves general orientation followed by 1-2 days of unit-specific training, and the staffing schedule is self-scheduled for six-week increments. The candidate must be flexible to float to medical-surgical units and possess the ability to respond to emergency situations efficiently.
