Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ICU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care in our Intensive Care Unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in critical care and possess the necessary certifications to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Monitor and interpret patient vital signs and laboratory results.
• Titrate medications and manage intravenous (IV) drips as per protocols.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Perform assessments and respond to changes in patient conditions promptly.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and communicate effectively with healthcare team members.
• Supervise and support nurse aides and healthcare support personnel.
• Participate in patient and family education as needed.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience required.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Number of Beds: 33, with an average daily census of 16 patients.
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adult patients.
• Common patient diagnoses include trauma, cardiac conditions, substance abuse, sepsis, stroke, and respiratory distress.

Schedule and Shift Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Shifts: Nights and every other weekend required.
• Orientation: 1 shift specific to unit/department.

Additional Information

All candidates must adhere to the established fingernail policy, which prohibits artificial nails in patient care areas. Additionally, this role may require floating to other units such as Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and MedSurg, as necessary.

Weekends are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, and a minimum of 2 holidays is required within the contract duration. RTO (Requests for Time Off) of 7 days or less is permissible upfront, with additional requests not being accepted post-submission.
