Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is needed in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This position involves caring for critically ill patients within a mixed acuity environment, including ICU and progressive care patients. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

  • Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
  • Position Type: Registered Nurse ICU/PCU
  • Shift Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week, operating on a traditional weekday plus weekend rotation, from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license, minimum of 1.5 years ICU experience (2 years preferred), ACLS (American Heart Association) certification, BLS (American Heart Association) certification, and ability to work scheduled shifts.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 critical care facilities, familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records, and prior float experience to ICU, progressive units, and Medsurg.
  • Additional Information: The unit features 24 beds in the Medical Intensive Care Unit and 12 beds in the Progressive Care Unit. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 or 1:3 in ICU and 1:3 or 1:4 in progressive care, with occasional transfers. The environment requires flexibility, critical thinking, and team-oriented skills. Orientation includes one day of onboarding and review of policies, including EPIC training.
