Job Summary ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Nurse in a hospital setting located within the service area. This position involves providing critical care to adult and pediatric patients, including those with neuro, respiratory, renal, and surgical conditions. The role supports a fast-paced, tertiary hospital environment with collaboration among multidisciplinary teams.
Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Responsibilities include managing adult and pediatric patients with complex conditions such as neuro emergencies, respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, cardiogenic shock, and renal failure.
RNs will perform titration of drips such as vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics.
Work entails interpreting telemetry strips using Draeger heart monitors.
Includes float rotation to other inpatient units (excluding Maternity and NICU).
Shift durations are 0630-1830 and 1830-0630, with a requirement to work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays.
New hires must complete 2 shifts of unit-specific orientation.
Candidates will adhere to unit policies, including dress code and fingernail restrictions.
RTO requests of 7 days or less are considered if submitted upfront; additional RTO requests are not permitted.
Employment is subject to unit approval, and shifts can be canceled with up to 4 shifts per 13-week contract.
Responsibilities also include troubleshooting vents and nasal cannula to vents.
