Job Summary ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Nurse Nights The healthcare provider is seeking a qualified ICU nurse to join the critical care team on the night shift. This role involves providing primary patient care in a fast-paced ICU environment, managing ventilated and sedated patients, and titrating various drips per patient needs.
Job Details
Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois license or confirmation that the application process has been initiated, active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, active ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, and 1 year of clinical experience in an ICU setting.
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
Additional Information: Nurses provide primary care in the ICU. The unit has in-house hospitalist and intensivist coverage 24/7, with in-house respiratory therapy available around the clock. RNs are expected to troubleshoot and manage telemetry monitors, ventilators, and various drips including sedatives, vasopressors, and pain management. The unit utilizes Phillips telemetry monitors and provides classroom plus on-unit orientation per policy.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with PEG tube care/feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline care, tracheostomy management, and titration of titratable drips such as Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levophed, Dopamine, and Cardizem.
