Job Summary An Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing specialized critical care to adult and pediatric patients with a variety of complex health conditions, including neuro surgery, respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, and renal failure. The position requires the ability to collaborate within a fast-paced, tertiary hospital environment.
Job Details
Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as an RN, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications; 2 years recent ICU experience; candidates must have a valid driver's license and reside within 50 miles of the facility; no minimum years of experience specified otherwise.
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Additional Information: Candidates must pass a skills exam and a pass/fail exam during orientation. The unit cares for adult and pediatric patients over 15 years old with complex neuro, respiratory, cardiac, renal, and surgical diagnoses. RNs will be required to titrate drips such as vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics. Staffing includes nurse aides/patient care techs, tele/monitor techs, and charge nurses. RNs need to be proficient in reading and interpreting telemetry strips. The environment promotes collaboration with attendings and resident providers and fosters a high standard of patient care.
