Job Details:
- Location: Parkersburg, WV
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, starting from 08/17/2026
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) are all required
- Required Qualifications: Candidates must have at least 2 years of critical care experience. Must be competent with CRRT, IABP, ventilators, post-code/therapeutic hypothermia, and skilled with vasoactive medications, sedation, and paralytics. Prior travel experience is preferred.
- Additional Skills and Responsibilities: Ability to titrate critical care medications, perform care/removal of Central lines, and monitor/interpret ICU systems. RNs are responsible for managing ventilators, cardiac drips, and patient assessments.
- Shift Details: Work hours are from 07:00 PM to 07:30 AM, with self-scheduling and block scheduling options available. Rotation may include weekends (every other weekend) and holidays, depending on unit needs.
- Unit specifics: The ICU has 18 private rooms with negative pressure capabilities for COVID patients, staffing ratios typically 1:2, with additional coverage for CRRT and organ donation. The unit has dedicated respiratory therapist coverage 24/7, monitor techs, and a pharmacy on-site from 07:00 to 16:30 daily. Orientation includes two shifts of general/floor training and completion of EPIC education prior to start.
- Additional notes: The unit requires float to step-down and medical-surgical units as needed. Staff dress in royal blue scrubs. The facility uses EPIC for charting.
