Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) located in Alexandria, Louisiana. This full-time position involves providing specialized nursing care in a mixed cardiac and medical intensive care setting, requiring the ability to independently manage complex medical cases such as post-operative cardiovascular surgeries, ventilated patients, and those with critical conditions. The schedule includes night shifts, and the role emphasizes the delivery of high-quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, BLS certification from AHA, ACLS certification from AHA, RN License in the state of Louisiana or in a compact state.
- Preferred Qualifications: One year of experience in critical care or a similar clinical setting, experience with intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impellas, post-op cardiovascular surgeries, and CRRT.
- Position Requirements: Newly hired experienced RNs must attend a New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire and complete necessary onboarding and competency validation.
- Responsibilities: Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, administering medications and treatments, assessing patient needs, and educating patients and families. Address evolving psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
- Float: No floating required.
- Patient Ratio: 2:1 for ICU patients and 4:1 for IMCU patients within the ICU.
- Dress Code: Teal or Caribbean Blue.
