Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position is located in Freeport, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized critical care to patients with complex medical conditions. The ICU RN will be responsible for managing patient care, running codes, titrating medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced acute care setting.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with shifts scheduled based on census needs. Expectation of at least 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois license to submit; Certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); a minimum of 2 years ICU experience; ability to titrate drips including Levo, Neo, Propofol, Fentanyl, Precedex, Insulin, TNK, among others.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous travel ICU experience, Meditech experience, and code blue command RN experience are highly preferred.
  • Additional Information: The unit is an 8-bed ICU with primary care nursing, staffed by ICU nurses capable of running codes, with tele unit support. There are care support staff including CNAs and unit secretaries trained to support the team. Hospitalists are in-house 24/7 during the day. RN's are responsible for strip reading and utilize GA Gescape and Airstrip technology. The unit operates with a 12-hour shift model, including every other weekend and holiday rotation. Floating to Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, or ER units may be required, and professional scrubs are permitted. Two 12-hour department-specific orientation shifts will be provided, with documentation support available.
