Job Summary The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing specialized patient care in a critical care setting. This role focuses on protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, while advocating for individuals and families.
Job Details
Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Current New York State Registered Nurse License; BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross); at least 6 months, but preferably 3 years of nursing (RN) experience, including experience with intensive cardiac patients such as CHF, COPD, end-stage heart failure, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, GI bleeds, CRRT, IABP, Impella, and normothermia.
Skills: Collaboration, communication (verbal & written), judgment/critical thinking, organizational understanding, planning (organizing, time management), problem solving, quality, reliability, safety and risk management.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
Additional Information: The RN will actively participate in professional development, support nursing practice standards, and may perform duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned. Candidates must be committed to ongoing education and adapting evidence-based practices.
