Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position at a teaching hospital, requiring ventilator management and telemetry experience with night shift availability.

Details

  • Critical Care Float Pool position within a teaching hospital setting
  • Floats across multiple ICUs based on staffing and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs (MICU x2), Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, and NCCU
  • Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Ohio state or compact) required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR required
  • Skilled in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management
  • Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • 2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing across a variety of ICU specialties, adapting to unit-specific patient populations and acuity levels
  • Responsibilities may include IV therapy, arterial and central line management, blood product administration, ventilator care, chest tube assistance, EVD/ICP monitoring, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips depending on unit assignment
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract, as delays can impact start date
  • Locals accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees eligible for travel assignments after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
  • Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are not eligible for travel assignments
  • RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
