ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a critical care environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing with a focus on intensive care unit operations.

Unit Highlights

• Location: Plano, TX
• Unit: ICU/CCU
• Number of Beds: 36 CCU, 30 Burn Trauma ICU
• Patient Ratios: 2:1
• Unit Staffing: Supervisor on every shift along with Patient Care Technicians (PCT)
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: Every other weekend
• Floating Policy: As needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including assessment and monitoring of critically ill patients.
• Perform advanced nursing interventions and procedures, such as central line and arterial line insertions, thoracotomies, tracheostomy care, and chest tube insertions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures while maintaining the highest standards of care.
• Educate patients and their families regarding treatment options, care processes, and post-hospitalization procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of hospital experience.
• 2 years of specialty experience in ICU is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Active RN license; temporary licenses are not accepted.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with the Meditech documentation system.
• Certifications such as TNCC, CCRN, and TCRN are favorable.

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Royal Blue for RNs.
• Nail Policy: Clean and healthy; no artificial nails, gels, or similar styles permitted.
• Hair: Must be neat and clean with no extreme styles or colors, pulled back if shoulder-length or longer.
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; open discussions for visible body art will occur individually.
• Piercings: Visible piercings other than earrings are prohibited.
