Unit Overview
This unit focuses on providing exemplary critical care. The ICU environment is fast-paced and requires skilled professionals to deliver high-quality care to patients with complex needs.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
2+ years of critical care experience
2+ years of hospital or travel experience
BLS certification
ACLS certification
Preferred Skills:
Rotoprone experience
Exposure to Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), specifically Prismaflex
Experience with Meditech documentation system
Licensure:
Active RN license in Texas (temporary licenses are not accepted)
Typical Procedures Performed
Central line placement
Bronchoscopy
Bedside tracheostomy
Dress Code
Scrub Color: Navy (undershirts and jackets must be white, navy, or black)
Nail Policy: No acrylic nails, must be clean and no chipped nail polish
Hair: Must be off shoulders and be of natural color
Tattoos: Must be covered whenever possible; those that cannot be covered will be addressed individually
Piercings: Visible body piercings other than the ears are prohibited
Additional Information
Travelers are required to float as needed; floating to other areas may occur based on patient census
Work four weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling cycle
