Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma ICU position requiring Epic charting experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work in a Level I Trauma ICU setting
• Care for critically ill patients with a 1:2 patient ratio
• Unit consists of 14 rooms and 16 beds
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• Floating required to ICU, IMC, and Tele units as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of submittal
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• PALS and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II hospital experience preferred
• Teaching and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in ventilator management and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line care
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs
• Skilled in ICP monitoring preferred
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to trauma and ICU patients in a Level I Trauma Center
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not contracted
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Former staff members must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
