Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring 3+ years of recent ICU experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• 10-bed ICU unit with a staff of 12
• Day shift includes 1 charge RN and 1 AM RN working 7a-7p; night shift includes 1 charge RN and 1 PM RN working 7p-7a
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Uses Phillips monitors, HillRom beds, Omnicell, GE EKG machine, Lifepak 20e defibrillator, Lucas device, and Verathon bladder scanner
• Charts in Meditech Expanse
• 13-week assignment with a 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shift schedule
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX or compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• 3+ years of recent ICU experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Must demonstrate strong multi-tasking and independent critical thinking skills
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Perform ICU nursing care including STEMI protocol, stroke protocol, conscious sedation, chest tube management, code response, and intubation support
• Navy blue scrub attire required
• Ideal candidates are friendly, honest, flexible, compassionate, and work well with others while maintaining a sense of urgency when needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
